Viewers were first introduced to June Shannon aka Mama June in an episode of the bygone television series “Toddlers and Tiaras”. The country soon became obsessed with Shannon’s daughter, Alanna Thompson, and TLC took advantage of the intrigue and gave her family their own reality show, “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” (named after Thompson’s moniker), which chronicled her pageant life. as well as her life at home with Shannon, her father Mike “Sugar Bear” Thompson, and her sisters.
The show ended for a variety of reasons, and Shannon eventually landed her own spin-off series, “Mama June: From Not to Hot,” which featured her weight loss journey, but has since aired on VTV. Loyal TLC fans haven’t heard much about the pageant mom other than what was reported in the tabloids. In addition to her weight loss, Mama June has caused quite a stir with her kids. She no longer has custody of Thompson, and relations with her other daughters are also strained. All the drama is re-aired on WE TV on “Mama June: Family Crisis”, and one episode of the show features Mama June attempting to visit her daughters in hopes of fixing things. “I just want a relationship with him, and hopefully this shows him that I’m willing to go to any extent to make that happen,” says Shannon. at,
