long awaited third season indian matchmaking It’s here, and matchmaker Sima Taparia, aka Sima Aunty, is back to help singles find love. This time, Priya Ashara – a client viewers only met briefly at the end of season 2 – is one of Sima’s main clients.
The 35-year-old is a clinical pharmacist and private chef based in London, and has been working with Sima two years after their divorce. Her ex was actually her first boyfriend, she shared in Episode 1 of the new season (which dropped April 21), and they married at age 27. “When you hook up with someone at 19, and you’ve been with them for 11 years, without questioning what marriage really is, I did what I thought I should was expected.
Priya once worried that potential partners would see her as “broken” because she was divorced, but has since gained a new perspective on her past. “With divorce, you add a lot of shame, you add a lot of guilt with it,” she explained. “Before, I used to be someone who hid that I was divorced when I was dating. But now, I’m like, you know what? It’s part of my story, so I’m going to share it.
Apart from her dating life, Priya regularly hosts supper clubs in London. Her Instagram – @priya.ashra – Documents lots of travel, hanging out with family and friends, and the occasional throwback photo.
According to Priya’s criteria? Back in Season 2, she told her friends what she’s looking for in an ideal partner — and what it is No On the lookout, including a dragon T-shirt and highly groomed eyebrows.
Priya is in love with a guy who has a ponytail, pierces one ear, has a nice smile, and is at least 6 feet tall. and “looking young.” She said in the episode, “I don’t ask for too much. I don’t think I ask for too much.” She described his flaws as his rigidity and said that he “can sometimes jump to straight conclusions.”
