When will the servers be back online?

Server downtime and maintenance breaks are an integral part of any online gaming title, and FIFA 23 is no different. The latest installment in the iconic football simulation franchise boasts the largest playerbase in the series’ history. With so many fans actively playing games, heavy server traffic required frequent downtime.

Similar to other such incidents, EA Sports has announced that it will shut down FIFA 23 servers for a predetermined amount of time. During this time, players will not be able to connect to any online game modes such as Ultimate Team and Online Season.

FIFA 23 servers will be taken offline for a while

When will the servers be down?

FIFA 23 is not the only title in the series that will be affected by this downtime. Based on the tweet from FIFA Direct Communication, the server break will affect all iterations of the series that have active servers, including FIFA 18-23.

The servers will go offline at the following times in various time zones:

  • UTC: 6:00 am
  • IST: 11:30 AM
  • ET: 2:00 p.m. ET
  • PT: 11:00 p.m.

Matchmaking will be disabled 30 minutes prior to the start of this downtime. This is done to ensure that gamers do not disconnect during competitive games, as this would hinder their progress in game modes such as FUT Champions and Division Rivals.

With the Division Rivals rewards set to be released on Thursday, gamers will be hoping that the servers are back online in time to continue grinding and trying to get the best packs.

EA Sports recently released Title Update 11 to FIFA 23, and this could possibly be the reason behind the latest server maintenance break. Whenever a new patch comes out for the game, the servers are taken offline for some time to ensure proper implementation of the changes made by the update.

Title Update 11 is quite extensive, as it includes changes to skill moves, kits, tifos, and many other visual aspects. With such a major update being released to the game, server maintenance can be a necessity to ensure proper functioning of online gameplay.
